 Working on tone and depth now, with a few tweaks to composition:  the thing is going to be to get the tones and depth consistent across all three, given that I'm only working on one at a time (rather than across all three at the same 'sitting')

big art day

as I needed to push on with the research art uncomfortable stuff and wanted to do some 'normal' painting too.  So, re-carved the lettering and printed . . . played with silver ink on the 'hope is the thing with feathers' print . . .  finished Rex and sorted the three Ilparpa studies . . . gotta love a productive monday!

Comfort zone? Now where was that again ...

playing with all sorts of things beyond where I know (and like, to be honest) what I'm doing.  Watercolour, paper, loose impressionistic stuff, multi-media, modelling compound (a material, not a place), combining aerial and perspective views . . . hmmmmm prob give this a break tomorrow and do some drawing or painting to feel like me for a bit. 
No idea at all how things are progressing, if at all, which I guess is part of the challenge.  (Pasted on smile now) . ..
Apart from the first one (playing with colour on a monoprint), the rest are preparation for an image to accompany a chapter in a book about the remote Indigenous teacher preparation program I've been involved with, about teacher identity . . .

maps again

Playing with a different kind of map this time, for a research paper on professional identity formation.  All quite emergent, playing with two perspectives, the aerial and the ground-level (traditional 1 or more vanishing points).  Still at the wash and lino-cutting stage, assembling the various elements and experimenting with them, so no idea really how things will turn out . . .
