Stuart, Betty and me!






















This (below) is the reason why I'm playing with lino printing . . . a bit of a project with a friend and colleague (and expert lino artist and printer!).  The project's to do with a local statue of John Douall Stuart and it's 'audiencing'.  So we've been printing and inviting artists to re-interpret the prints in terms of their response to the statue, the politics, the history, the . . . .


 So here's the beginnings of my response to the statue, the man, the history:  provisionally titled, I wonder, Mr Stuart . . . but quite likely to change, especially when I start putting the pencilled text in and then maybe, if it still feels right, the green acrylic lebeck tree foliage . . . .

patience and clouds

Yup, forgotten how long soft billowy clouds actually take . . . to make them soft and billowy: not even close yet . . .perhaps a smaller canvas would have been a better plan.

And back to Geoff, enjoying portraiture's peachy colours again . . . getting the figure sorted before I start messing with the words to make a landscape background
