old days kind of art

I  started painting by painting on waistcoats, and started drawing by doodling so this is all a bit of a blast from the past, and very engaging too . . . The jackets (so far, two more I've not yet started) are tributes to Dr Seuss and Del Barton.  The drawings that aren't related to Seuss or Barton are playing  with the concept of Zentangle design, something I'm also trialing with my classes.

bit a printing

Finished the fourth mini camel carving today and then got all excited about printed all four (until I remembered the good ink is not here but in a colleague's studio).  But gave it a go anyway, and had an opportunity to try some new rice paper that's not a thin as the dosho on a roll but has a similar smoothness and texture.

loco creativitity

no idea really . . .  moving between the discipline of lino carving and the, well I'm not quite sure what it is. of creating critters and stories out of watercolour blobs.  Been meaning and needing to do this and think it's been fun . . . Of course the efficiency kicked in and the lino carving happened when I was waiting for the watercolour splodges to dry . . . and then had 40 minutes as the end of the afternoon when I'd cleaned up the lino and watercolour messes to get the oil colour going a bit on the Pt Lincoln Pelican who won't know what's hit him (or her) when I start messing with a  travel related Storm Boy collaged kind of background.
