Got to remind myself when I think 'I'm painting soo slow' that this is quite a large canvas . . . enjoying putting the texture right up there before I knock it all back/soften it up a bit in the final stages (which are still a long way away)
Prob not the most efficient way to paint as a right-hander, but it's a hard habit to get out of. Still moving things as well a playing with contours and light, but sometimes I have to have more of the detail stuff happening in order to see if I need to move something . . . no wonder I'm such a slow painter.
Glad it happened sooner rather than later: was working on the forehead lines and realised the face was out of whack, so had to paint over eyes (which I'd been quite happy with!) and move the profile left by about half an inch. But it's better now.
