fluffifying and smoothing
So Chester's nearly complete: just working on the hair to make him a bit more fluffy
And the small nurse is now complete, after some gentling and smoothing: think I might use the same style (grissaille [sic] for all that's not skin) for the KW triptych.

ok so not a camel. But pretty similar temperament I think . . .
Did go with the map in the end, and thinking I can prob make it work . . .

Chester again and a couple of reduxes
working out how I can add text (map? narrative? travel directions form?) to tell the story of Chester's Travels (he's been at Ross River Homestead, Frontier Camel Farm and Uluru Camel Tours). The map's not going to work if I want it to scale and correct orientation, so . . .
These two are major cut downs from the originals (makes me think of cut off shorts!) but loving going back to the faces and playing more with layers, tone and luminosity . . .

Different Monsters is DONE
Well, THAT took a lot longer than I expected. And a few plasters to fingers from dodgy scalpel handling (for cutting the finer bits of collage)
But happy, I think with my monsters . . . just got to finish writing the journal paper now . . .

Different Monsters . . .
getting there with the comic strip . . . lots still to improve in terms of text boxes and text, composition of some of the cells, but loving the cells that 'work', and loving what it takes to make cells and groups of cells work . . .

comics!
well sort of . . . an arts-based academic collaged comic strip thing that's going to part of a paper that's due end Oct., so a bit concerned that it's quite a bit more time-consuming than I'd expected. The photo-blue pencil groundwork is still a bit of leap of faith as I'm not convinced that when I scan it this colour will become invisible . . . (pretty much like when looking at it on screen here) But still having lots of fun with it.
