very beginnings

Some early days work from this year's Show:  enjoying different canvas shapes and still not quite sure at this stage how I'll put the paint on:  I'm developing a bit of an urge to get messy/sloppy and really loose and fast (especially so I can just indicate the crowds rather than paint all the people), esp with the first two (the last one I'm a bit taken with the boys' expressions so that'll probably be my usual details).

I've also just finished a commissioned portrait, but can't show it yet as it's a surprise gift.  Might have another commission in the offing too, which I'm looking forward to.
