new returns

these two have been around for ooh I don't really want to think.  Enjoying getting back to them though, esp Lesley and Stella, who I visited a few days ago.

the thing about stopping

is that it's hard.  Got more than enough paintings for the exhib, and a couple of camels and portraits that need finishing, but somehow needed to finish all the pics I'd started for What Lies Beneath before getting onto other things:  images from Garma Festival mainly . . .

started this little one before the large 'Bull's Story' skull, but then got involved painting the large one.  Now I don't need to paint this (to work out lighting, textures, composition etc), I'm having some fun working it up to something more finished.

 Did my first cut of a matt for Bean's 'Man in the Crowd' picture:  seriously out of practice but managed not to stuff it up too badly.  Liking how the white matt and frame combo for his pictures both sets off the darker subject matter and also tones well with my paintings.  Need to buy some more matt card and keep my fingers crossed the blades on my matt cutter don't go blunt as I can't get new ones in town.

Picked these up to play with some ideas for the opening 'event' . . .
